Does every epoxy floor need a clear topcoat?

Not every epoxy floor strictly requires a clear topcoat, but every system benefits from one. A suitable clear coat or protective topcoat provides an additional layer of protection for the decorative finish, improves resistance to wear, and creates the required gloss, satin, or matte appearance.

Should I choose a urethane or polyaspartic floor coating?

Polyaspartics are used solely on flake or quartz floors. If you have a metallic or solid colour epoxy floor, T2000 gives you the glossiest finish. Urethane is better suited for slip and scratch resistance.

What is the difference between slow-cure and medium-cure polyaspartic coatings?

The main difference between slow-cure and medium-cure polyaspartic coatings is the available working time. Slow-cure products give smaller teams more time to spread and finish the coating, while medium-cure options can reduce downtime but require a faster application.

Can I apply a new protective coating over an existing epoxy floor?

Yes, provided the existing coating is sound, compatible and properly prepared. A worn floor may need cleaning, sanding or mechanical preparation before recoating. Peeling, delamination, contamination or moisture problems should be investigated before another protective coat is applied.
